Resume Headline: Sr. Network Administrator / Sr. Systems Administrator
OBJECTIVE:My primary objective is to work for a company where I truely feel like my work is directly benefitting others.

To go into detail I am looking for a place where I can directly handle network and systems administration, implement new technologies, and plan and implement corporate IT strategies that will increase productivity and functionality. I am seeking only senior level positions as I enjoy developing and implementing an IT strategy for each new situation rather than implementing an existing strategy.

An employer will benefit from an employee who enjoys network and system administration and continues to learn not simply as a job requirement, but because of a personal desire to improve his skills.

I am currently employed by a wonderful company and do not want to leave. Only contact me if you're offering >$150,000 because that's what it would take for me to even consider it.

When I begin something new I learn quickly and soon become quite proficient. I have been working with computers for many years and much of my experience is self-taught.

In college I completed courses in Java which teach the fundamentals of object oriented programming as well as basic Java code. Additionally, I have taken classes in Scheme, Prolog, C, and C++ and have written applications in each of those languages. I have developed networking applications in Java and C such as a proxy server and a chat client which uses multicasting technology. Furthermore, I designed a web application using JSP (Java Server Pages) which provided a web interface to query and update a database. I also designed and managed development of a limited-use email address system which generated unique email addresses that could each be used in a difference instance. This allowed people to abstract their true email email address so that should a virtual address receive too much unsolicited email it could simply be terminated without affecting legitimate senders.

I spent all four years in High School in the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) where I rose to the highest rank of Cadet Colonel and received several awards for leadership. During my JROTC career, I held positions of leadership such as Director of Operations and Commander of the Kitty Hawk Honor Society. When given authority I will take charge and see that the job is done.

I am a proponent of using free or open-source software in the workplace. In addition to the direct cost-savings free software serves as strong competetion to incumbent paid-software solutions. This results in competetive improvements in both solutions and ultimately creates products with richer features for the consumer.

I am currently employed by a wonderful company and do not want to leave. Only contact me if you're offering >$150,000 because that's what it would take for me to even consider it.
